There are at least seven ways that vacations don’t exactly hit the mark – seven ways that make a Rejuvacation unique. What additional ways can you think of? Comment below.
1. Vacation after the Vacation. After a personal vacation, you may feel the need for a follow-up vacation in order to recover. A Rejuvacation leaves you refreshed, ready to tackle your normal life head-on.
2. Home. On a personal vacation, you might call home frequently to check in and talk with everyone. On a Rejuvacation, you don’t. Check in for safety reasons, yes, but try to limit extensive conversations that will emotionally pull you out of Rejuvacation mode.
3. Out of Office. On a personal vacation, you might bring a laptop or glance at emails every few hours. On a Rejuvacation, you don’t. Set your out of office reminder and log out literally and mentally.
4. Activities. On a personal vacation, you intend to enjoy certain amenities or excursions associated with the vacation space. On a Rejuvacation, you do not. You give yourself time to re-discover what you like and what you enjoy or your energy levels throughout the day.
5. Attire. On a personal vacation, you have the added pressure to look or dress a certain way based on the environment. On a Rejuvacation, you dress for yourself. Dress for how you feel; if you’re near a beach, wear the bikini (or not). If you’re in a hotel, wear your onesie (or not). Feel like wearing formal dress and full glam? Do you, boo. There’s no one to impress but yourself.
6. Itinerary. On a personal vacation, you may have an itinerary of activities. A Rejuvacation has no written itinerary. Your activities are dictated by your physical and mental state. Feel like sleeping? Take a nap. Wanna go for a swim at 8pm? Go for it. Wish you could linger at a restaurant to read your favorite book? Do it. There are no requirements to be anywhere for anyone at any time on a Rejuvacation.
7. Time/Agenda. Time does not exist on a Rejuvacation. Well, that’s not entirely true – you need to know the time you arrive and the time you’re required to leave, but anything in between should be subject to your personal whims.
Don’t think you have time for this type of trip? I didn’t either. After my first trip away, however, I decided that I couldn’t afford to NOT make time for this. Before I left, I was overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, and moody. Upon my return, I was – quite simply – glowing.
